U.S. Educational Advising Overview
EducationUSA Samoa provides unbiased, current and comprehensive information for Samoans on educational opportunities in the U.S.
United States Embassy Apia offers general advising to prospective international students interested in higher education in the U.S. The Center’s education advisor can come to schools to talk about study in the U.S. and help school careers advisors with queries. Our small resource library has a collection of reference materials for students. The resources are free and available during office hours, by appointment only.
Student Visa
There are two main types of visas that are issued to students wishing to study at U.S. universities – a Student Visa and an Exchange Visitor Visa. (NOTE: New, increased fees for international students, exchange visitors, SEVP-certified schools from June 24th, 2019…click for details).
The Education Advisor cannot assist with any visa related, or otherwise Consular, matter. For assistance in these areas, please refer to the Consular pages of this site, or call the Visa Information Service.
