Message for U.S. Citizens: Air New Zealand Connecting Flights to the U.S.

The United States Embassy in Apia would like to advise U.S. citizens currently residing in Samoa of changes to Air New Zealand’s flight schedule that will impact the ability of U.S. citizens to return to the United States.

Effective November 1, Air New Zealand’s Auckland to Los Angeles flight will depart Auckland at 8:15 p.m. on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.  Passengers traveling from Apia will no longer be able to connect to the Auckland-Los Angeles flight within New Zealand’s permitted transfer timeline of 24 hours.  Please find information about transit visas and criteria for passengers transiting through New Zealand here.

U.S. citizens who are planning to travel/return to the U.S. should take advantage of the existing Air New Zealand flight schedule that is expected to continue through October 28.  For more information, please reach out to the local Air New Zealand office directly:
