Message for U.S. Citizens: COVID-19 Lockdown in Samoa

The Government of Samoa announced on April 4 that all of Samoa will move to COVID Alert Level 2 effective at 11:59 p.m. on April 5.  Under Level 2, businesses and government offices will be permitted to open from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.  Churches are allowed to reopen with a limit of 30 people, and funerals will be permitted with a maximum of 30 people.  All other gatherings are restricted to 15 people.  All schools remain closed, and children under the age of 12 are not allowed in public places.  Alert Level 2 will remain in place for two weeks through 11:59 p.m. on April 19.    Alert Level 2 will remain in place for two weeks through 11:59 p.m. on April 19.  For detailed information about the Samoan government’s response to COVID-19, visit the Government of Samoa and Samoa Ministry of Health websites and follow the Government of Samoa and Samoa’s Ministry of Health on Facebook.
