Message for U.S. Citizens/Nationals Regarding
Samoa Travel Advisory and Restrictions in Relation to the 2019 Novel Coronavirus

The Independent State of Samoa (Samoa) instituted a travel advisory and restrictions for all travelers entering Samoa. Please see this link for exact guidance and the most up to date information, Samoa Coronavirus Travel Advisory and Restrictions . The advisory and restrictions state all travelers will need to complete a Special Declaration Form and undergo a compulsory health screening upon arrival in Samoa. In addition, all travelers from certain countries (including the United States) must obtain a medical clearance from a medical practitioner within three days before traveling to Samoa. Of particular note, anyone traveling or transiting from China (including a U.S. citizen) must spend at least 14 days in self-quarantine of the last port free of the coronavirus and obtain a medical clearance within three days before traveling to Samoa. United States Citizens/Nationals residing in or visiting Samoa should regularly refer to the Samoan Ministry of Health’s website for the latest updates.
Actions to Take:
- If traveling to Samoa obtain a medical clearance form a medical professional within three days before traveling.
- Carry proof of your medical clearance with you.
- Visit the CDC webpage to learn more about the coronavirus and what you can do to protect yourself.
